Florence Irene (Moore) Humphrey was born on October 26, 1907 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to James Robert Moore and Luvenia (Moore) Laws. The family moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1911 where Florence received her formal education. She attended Washington and Lincoln Elementary School and Kern County Union High School.
When Florence finished high school she moved to Oakland, California and worked as a live-in-home engineer. In 1940 she united in marriage with Chester Humphrey and returned to Bakersfield.
Florence accepted Christ and united with the St. John Baptist Church in 1962 and remained a member there her the remainder of her life.
Florence loved to walk, she loved to cook, and she enjoyed baseball.
Florence contributed her good health and long life to home remedies, and the Lord blessed her with 88 years. Her words of wisdom to everyone was to trusst the Lord and do good, and God loves a cheerful giver.
On August 15, 1996, Florence received her summons and went home to her place of eternal rest.
